Privacy Notice

How we handle your information. Last updated: 18 August 2026.

Who we are

A to B Travel & Executive is a private hire operator licensed by Liverpool City Council (Operator Licence PHO0177), based in Liverpool and working across Merseyside and the UK.

The business is run by Mihai-Adrian Manolescu as a sole trader, and he is responsible for the information we hold.

For any question about your information, contact bookings@atobtravel.org or 07521 264775.

What we collect

When you request a quote or make a booking:

  • your name
  • your phone number and email address
  • the collection address, any additional stop, and the destination
  • your travel date and time
  • flight number, where the journey involves an airport
  • passenger and luggage numbers
  • any notes you give us about the journey

We do not ask for, and do not want, more than we need to carry out the journey.

Where your information comes from

Usually, we receive your information directly from you — when you request a quote, make a booking or message us.

Where your journey was booked through another operator, such as OTS or M&L Travel, we receive your booking details from that operator rather than directly from you. That is how we have your name, phone number and journey details before we contact you.

We use that information only to carry out the journey allocated to us, and to keep the booking records required of a licensed private hire operator.

CCTV in our vehicles

Our own vehicles are fitted with CCTV that records both video and audio, covered by our registration and data protection fee with the Information Commissioner's Office. It is there for the safety of passengers and drivers, and to provide evidence if there is an incident, an accident or a dispute.

How long footage is kept. The systems record over themselves automatically. In normal use that is around 14 days in one vehicle and 30 days in the other. Where a vehicle is used less often, older footage may remain on it until it is overwritten in the ordinary course.

Footage is only looked at where there is a reason — an incident, an accident, a complaint, or a request from the police or the Council. It is shared only with the police, the Council, our insurer, or another party where the law requires it. It is never used for anything else.

Where your journey is carried out by one of our collaborator drivers in their own vehicle, any recording equipment in that vehicle is theirs, not ours, including their own registration with the Information Commissioner's Office.

Why we use your information

1. To arrange and carry out your journey. The addresses, times and flight number are what the journey is built from. 2. To contact you about your booking — to confirm it, tell you about a change, or if the driver cannot find you. 3. To keep the records our licence requires. As a licensed operator we must keep a record of every booking we accept, and make it available for inspection. 4. To keep our business accounts, including invoices for business customers, as required for tax.

We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not sell or rent them to anyone.

The legal basis for each of those

What we doWhy we are allowed to
Arrange and carry out your journey, and contact you about itPerformance of a contract — it is the service you booked
Keep booking records for the Council, and financial records for HMRCLegal obligation — our licence conditions and tax law require it
CCTV in our vehicles, and investigating complaints and incidentsLegitimate interests — the safety of passengers and drivers, and being able to deal properly with a complaint, an accident or a dispute

Who sees it

We share your information only where it is needed to arrange and carry out your journey, run the business properly, or meet a legal obligation.

The driver carrying out your journey. They receive your name, phone number, collection and destination addresses, flight number and passenger details — only what they need to complete the journey. They are not shown the price you paid and must treat your information as confidential.

Our booking and communication systems. We use:

  • Netlify to run our website and collect quote-form submissions;
  • Zoho Mail for our business booking email;
  • Google services, including Sheets, Calendar and Gmail, to manage booking records, job allocations and operator emails;
  • WhatsApp Business where you contact us or arrange your journey by WhatsApp.

Other operators. Where a journey is allocated to us by another operator, such as OTS or M&L Travel, that operator may provide us with the passenger information needed to carry out the journey. They may also hold information about the booking under their own arrangement with you.

Payment providers. Where you choose to pay by card or payment link, payments are processed by SumUp. We do not receive or store your full card number or card-security details.

Software and AI assistants. We may use secure software and AI assistants, including OpenAI and Anthropic, where necessary to help administer bookings, business records, customer communications or business operations. We only provide information that is needed for the task, and we do not use customer information for marketing.

Our accountant, where financial information is needed for tax and accounts.

Liverpool City Council, the police, our insurer or another authority, where they are entitled to receive the information, or where it is relevant to an accident, complaint, crime, insurance matter or legal requirement.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for marketing.

How long we keep it

Different records are kept for different lengths of time, because different rules apply:

WhatHow longWhy
Booking recordsat least 12 months from the last entryLiverpool City Council licence conditions
Financial records — what was charged, invoices, paymentsat least 5 years after the 31 January tax deadline for that yearHMRC requirements for a sole trader
CCTV footagearound 14–30 days, then overwritten automaticallysee above

We do not keep your personal contact details for longer than we need them. Where records are kept for tax purposes beyond the licensing period, we keep what the tax rules require and review what else we still hold.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy
  • correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
  • delete your details, where we are not required to keep them for licensing or tax
  • restrict what we do with your information while a question about it is being sorted out
  • object to us using it, where we are relying on our legitimate interests — for example CCTV footage
  • receive it in a usable electronic format, or have it sent to someone else, where that right applies
  • stop contacting you, other than about a booking you have made

Email bookings@atobtravel.org.

We normally respond within one month. If your request is particularly complex, or you make several requests, we may need more time. If so, we will tell you within one month and explain why.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
